Correen was born to Eternal Life on October 18, 2023, one day after her 81st birthday. Correen is survived by her first husband, Jack Chmiel, their son, John, and her two grandchildren, Isabelle and Wyatt Chmiel, along with her sister Georgette Warlin and brother-in-law, Kerri Warlin. Her beloved son and the grandchildren reside in Wausau, WI.
Correen was the younger daughter of the late Ella (nee Zastrow) and Peter Wolf and grew up in Merrill, Wisconsin. When she and Jack married, he was in the Air Force, stationed in Germany, where John was born.
Correen was an avid traveler and enjoyed many trips throughout the US as well as in Europe. A last and memorable trip was to Egypt and the Holy Land.
After her marriage to her second husband, the late Dale St. George, she lived in California for many years before returning to Wisconsin and the Milwaukee area. Correen was an Executive Secretary by profession and worked in that capacity both in Wisconsin and California. In recent years her physical health along with her memory had slowly been declining and she was currently a resident of the Village at Manor Park in West Allis, Wisconsin.
Correen was a beautiful, intelligent woman. She was wise and funny, continually thinking of things she could do to bless others, very generous in so many ways. She and her sister were particularly close, and always enjoyed doing things together. Correen loved to read and devoured books – something she had in common with her late mom, her sister and her son – delighting in discussing the contents with others. Most recently books about WWII seemed to have captured her interest.
Shortly before moving to California, Correen came to know Jesus as Her Lord and Savior and ever after she did her best to follow His teachings in every facet of her life. Her family takes great comfort in the fact that while they will miss her presence here on earth, they know with a certainty they will one day see her again in Heaven.
Visitation was held for Correen on Friday, October 27, 2023, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1875 N. Calhoun Rd. Brookfield, WI from 11:00 AM until time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 PM.
